Partyline: Can I wire a carbon mic headset to my RS-501 beltpack?

Partyline: Can I wire a carbon mic headset to my RS-501 beltpack?

Question:  I have some Telex PH-81 carbon mic headsets that I would like to interface into my RS-501 beltpacks.  In the RS-501 user manual there is some information regarding a "carbon mic modification".  Can you provide any details on this modification?
Answer:  The RS-501 beltpack is a legacy party-line product, there was a modification for carbon mic use, it involved the installation of a 1/4 inch tip / ring / sleeve phone jack on the beltpack (see bottom of beltpack, to the right of the headset jack there is a knock out for the 1/4 phone jack for carbon mic headsets).
Wiring for the 1/4 phone jack to the RS-501 main pcb J1 connector:
Tip - wire to J1 pin 6 (carbon mic audio / bias)
Ring - wire to J1 pin 1 (HS earphone output)
Sleeve - wire to J1pin 8 (Common)
It also requires the installation of three through hole components on the RS-501 main pcb:
  R6 - 1k ohm resistor, 1/2 watt
R53 - 1k ohm resistor, 1/2 watt
C32 - 2.2 uF capacitor, 35Vdc
See the attached pictures below for the location of the through hole components and wiring of the 1/4 phone jack on the RS-501beltpack.
