Wireless: Can I use a 4-Channel Tempest Beltpack in "Single Channel" mode?
Question: Are Tempest CP-242 beltpacks capable of being put into "single channel" mode, that is only one channel capable of talk and listen on the selected channel?
Answer: Yes, if your beltpack has version 3.00 firmware installed it is capable of single channel mode operation. The standard default operation of a 4-channel beltpack is channel A or B and channel C or D used in dual channel mode.
When enabled, select the channel you wish to listen/talk by pressing the channel knob A/B or C/D the same as you would in dual-listen mode. However, when in “Single Channel” mode pressing A/B or C/D will cycle from one channel to another and allow for listen/talk only on the selected channel. For example, if the BeltStation is on channel A and the C/D knob is pressed the unit will change from channel A to either channel C or channel D (whichever was the last accessed.) Pressing the channel A/B knob would return you to channel A since it was the previous channel. Pressing the channel A/B knob again would then access channel B.
To enable “Single Channel” mode,
press MENU,
then “Set Controls”,
then “CH Select”,
then “Single Channel”,
then Enable.
The default setting is Disable.
Alternative mode of working is to disable all the channels you do not want the user to access Example if you only want Chnl A operation , via the menu disable chnls B, C, D your beltpackNow only the Chnl A button will operate
Note: 4-channel Beltpacks with version 2.5.0 firmware or lower are not capable of single channel mode.
