Wireless: What is the procedure for pairing Tempest Beltpacks to a Tempest Base Station?

Question:  We have wireless system Tempest 2400 and I found one of our wireless BeltStations not connected with the basestation and the display shows "no base selected".  Can I pair this Beltstation without a cable via a menu selection or must I use the 3.5mm stereo cable connected between the Beltstation and the Base Station?

Answer:  The Tempest 2400 beltpack can only be registered to the Tempest 2400 basestation via the 3.5mm stereo pairing cable using the following procedure:
1. Confirm that the BaseStation is powered ON and in Operational Mode (not in Menu Mode) and that the Beltpack is powered OFF.
2. Plug one end of the pairing cable into the BaseStation and the other end into the Beltpack.
3. Turn the Beltpack power ON by pressing and holding the Beltpack Power ON/OFF button for two seconds. The pairing process will begin automatically. Watch for the message “Pairing Complete” to appear briefly on the Beltpack display. The Beltpack will automatically re-initialize. This completes the pairing process.
• If pairing is not successful, try to pair a different Beltpack with the BaseStation. If neither of the Beltpacks will pair, substitute a new Pairing cable.
• If you can successfully pair any Beltpack with the BaseStation, try the following procedure on the Beltpack that will not pair:
» Restore memory settings to Factory Defaults by pressing MENU
» Select “Belt Settings,” select “Tech Menu,” press ENTER to proceed
» Select “Set Defaults,” select Restore Factory Defaults, press ENTER to confirm and press MENU to exit
• If still not successful, repeat the above procedure but select Clear Memory to delete all memory settings, pairings, and user settings. See “Factory Defaults” section for more detail.
• If no Beltpack will pair with the BaseStation, reset the BaseStation memory to “Factory Defaults”.
• The final option is to select “Clear Memory” to fully reset the BaseStation. All Beltpack pairings will be lost with the “Clear Memory” option.
