Partyline: What is the maximum length of CAT-5 cable I can use to remote an RCU-67 from an RCS-2700 assignment panel?

Question:  I understand the RCS2700 can be remote controlled via the RCU-67. What is the maximum cable length that can be used? I'm guessing that even though this connects using Cat 5 cable, it is not Ethernet and should not be handled as such, is that correct?

Answer:  The RCU-67 connects to an RCS-2700 Source Assignment Panel with up to 300 feet (91 meters) of 8-wire modular RJ-45 type connector cable. This cable serves as both a data and power connection to the RCU-67.  Category-5 cable is recommended.
The data is proprietary and should not be connected to any Ethernet devices
