IP: Concert Server not responding due to faulty installation from DVD/RW disc.
Initial contact with the customer came because their Concert Server's EMS application was unresponsive, The error message shown was:
The EMS application at (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) is not currently responding.To start the EMS application manually, type the command:'service ems start'
from within the server's terminal.
It turned out that this error was the result of an incomplete initial installation of the Concert server. During the installation the following message appeared:
Running anaconda 12.21.149, the CentOS system installer - please wait.
The following problem occurred on line 0 of the kickstart file:
Unable to open input kickstart file: could not open/read file:///mnt/postconfig/Concert/kscentos.cfg
install exited abnormally [1/1]The system will be rebooted when you press Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
The customer reported that they had burned the .iso image of the Concert server to a DVD/RW disc and that when they tried a DVD/R disc instead, the installation completed without the error and the Concert server worked as expected.
