HelixNet: How do I make a physical connection to a WBS-680 / WBS-670 4-wire port from HelixNet?
Question: I have a WBS-680 system and I'm considering upgrading our old party-line system to HelixNet, what extra hardware do I need to in order to connect the WBS-680 base to HelixNet via 4-wire?
Answer: The HelixNet base station will require a 4-Wire module, this will provide two analog 4-wire ports which can be routed to the 4-wire ports on the WBS-680 base station PL A and PL B channels. This connection will require a custom CAT-5 cable (audio cross over cable) where the audio pairs (blue and blue/white and green and green/white are reversed on one end of the CAT-5 cable when using a standard T568B CAT-5 patch cable. For detailed wiring on the cable see the diagram below. This will allow for a full duplex connection between HelixNet Base and the WBS-680 base stations.

(i) Use the same Audio crossover cable when connecting a Helixnet basestation to a any Clear-Com wireless basestation (CellCom / Tempest)
(ii) Use a Straight CAT5 cable when connecting a WBS 670 or 680 basestation to any Clear-Com intercom matrix (Omega / Median / Delta / Pico)
