Connecting Clear-Com to a TELECAST Copper Head system
The Copperhead Fiber Camera-backed Interface Systems allows camera, audio and intercom to pass long distances over fiber.See the Copperhead manual pg.25 for the TELECAST pin out at:http://www.telecast-fiber.com/manuals-0/ and select the download the Copperhead manual button.
On page 25 of the attached manual, you’ll find the pin outs.
The 5 pin XLR on the studio end base station is:Pin1 groundPin 2 input (+)Pin 3 input (-)Pin 4 output (-)Pin 5 output (+)
So we’ll need to convert the intercom to 4wire to put it into the Copperhead at the base station, or “Studio” end.
Pg.14 of the manual shows the camera-end. On that end, the headset is an industry standard pin out… 1 mic ground2 mic hot3 ear ground4/5 ear hot
And, BTW…if they want to add anything other than a 5 pin headset to the camera end, they can use the pin out I gave you to plug into a 4wire to 2wire converter…like our EF-701M using pins 1 and 2 for output from the PL side and 3 and 4 for the input TO the PL.
…~ if one wants to go from the camera side headset jack into the copperhead using a Clear-Com EF-701m to connect into the Copperhead’s 4wire intercom, from a 2wire system at the camera end: 5pin Headset EF-701m DB15 (4wire)1 mic ground 2 Output (-)2 mic hot 1 Output (+)3 era ground 10 input(-)4 ear hot 9 input (+)
See page 3.4 of the EF-701 manual (pg 26) http://www.clearcom.com/userfiles/file/User%20Manuals/Partyline/Clear-Com_EF-701M_Manual.pdf or http://www.clearcom.com/product/partyline/interfaces/ef-701m/download
