Matrix: Does Clear-com have any Bluetooth headset options
Matrix: Does Clear-com have any Bluetooth headset options
Question: My company uses ICS-2003 in various locations to provide hands-free wireless radios. How can I use bluetooth headsets with the ICS-2003 & ICS-92 to keep the cords from tangles? We have 4 ICS-2003 together side-by-side (2 - 6 feet proximity) coordinating work in the field.
Answer: While Clear-Com doesn’t manufacture a bluetooth headset option for our Matrix / Party-line panels and beltpacks there are some manufacturer’s that do make some Clear-Com compatible hardware for this purpose. They are listed below
However Clear-Com does make a 2.4GHz wireless system that can be used to connect to a Matrix Panel headset jack, the DX121 system uses a small single channel base station BS-121 which can be connected to your stations headset socket. The user can then use a BP-200 beltpack or a WH-200 wireless headset, see product information here: http://www.clearcom.com/product/wireless/HME-DX121 The audio quality would rival that of a wired headset connection.

Bluetooth solutions: JK Audio makes a blue tooth headset 4-pin XLR plug-inadapter (BlueSet) that would plug into the ICS-2003 / ICS-92 headset jack, approximate cost $249.00It can be paired with their BSET-HS1 blue tooth headset @$179 to make a wireless headset that would give you about 30 feet of range from the enabled Matrix panel. Other Bluetooth headsets can be used with the BlueSet adapter, the best ones to consider that offer good audio levels are headsets with boom mics that reach the front of the users face. Some other bluetooth headsets recommended by JK audio:
Cobra CBTH1 ($70)
Peltor WSMT53H7AWS2 ($340) Blue Parrot also makes some good boom mic bluetooth headsets that are reasonably priced from $60 to $120 dollars, link to website: http://www.blueparrotheadset.com/
