Partyline : What is the difference between a Clear-Com and RTS (TW) remote mic kill signal
Partyline : What is the difference between a Clear-Com and RTS (TW) remote mic kill signal
The Remote Mic Kill (RMK or Mic Kill) function is found on most Partyline intercom systems If a user has latch on a talk key but has walked away from their wired BP then you will hear thier open mic all the time From a main station you can remote mic kill any BPs connected on that PL channel in order to stop people hearing the open mic of someone that has left their talk button latched on and walked away from their beltpack
Clear-Com uses a DC pulse to send Remote mic kill. A short between power and ground = provides the RMK signal or a short between power to audio provides a DC call signal.
RTS (TW) system uses a out-of-band 24Khz tone for RMK The RTS TW MCE325 station uses a 24KHz “remote mic off” or mic kill byanother name It is enabled on the panel by DIP switch and then is usedthrough the front panel as a button sequence of CALL CALL CALL wait a bit forflashing lights then press CH 1 or 2 depending on which you want toaffect.
