Helixnet: HMS-4X not booting - USB Recovery process
An HMS station going "Stage 1... Stage 2... Initializing.." and suck there for more than a minute requires recovery procedure
(the application has failed to start and the flash memory has somehow got corrupted).
Normally a booting HMS main station requires 1 minute for erasing/resetting Non-Volatile memory. Otherwise Initializing Stage should not last more than 10 seconds before App init appears on the screen
Recovery procedure is pressing HSet button +Main vol +PGM vol , release HSet only.
(this process assumes the main station is using Boot code 3.0.3 ):
Connect a USB stick into the MICRO USB connector
* USB Boot requires a USB drive with "npl.ccb" in the root directory,
(you can rename the current xxx.ccb file to npl.ccb)
* Select USB boot method.
* The HMS will load the npl.ccb file into RAM and run from it.
*Once the HMS is running a normal upgrade from either CCM or front panel is still required to properly write the image in Non-volatile memory.
* In either case if the config files are corrupted it might still get stuck because the config files are kept in Non-volatile memory. Additional steps will be required than.
