Partyline : Can I modify a RS-501/502 to get more gain on the mic?
Question:
Do you know of a way to modify a RS-501/502to get more gain on the mic?
Answer: The RS-501/502 does not have an internal mic gain adjustment. The intercom is a “talk-based system.” The beltpack isdesigned to use a Dynamic Mic at 200ohms. This keeps all the beltpack talkingall the same level so everyone on that channel will be heard at equal volume. When using a system, the operators should have the sidetone set on the beltpackto close to minimum level and then use proximity of the operator’s mic to makesmall level/gain adjustments.
