Wireless: Can I power one or two RS-601 beltpacks directly from a Tempest 2400 base station?
It is possible to directly power one or two RS-601 single channel beltpacks from a Tempest 2400 base station 2-wire PL connectors.
The Tempest 2400 base station has to be setup in "Master Mode", in this mode the 2-wire XLR PL connectors can supply 24Vdc with a limited current output.
To activate master mode on the base station access the CM-244 LCD display and press the menu button.
a) Then select "Multi-Base Settings" and press the enter button
b) Set this feature to "ON" and press the enter button
c) Exit the menus by pressing the "Menu" repeatedly until the menus are closed
d) The LCD screen should now say "Master" in the upper righthand corner
e) The user can now connect one or two wired RS-601 beltpacks directly to the 2-wire XLR connectors on the base.
NOTE: In Master Mode the base station should not be connected to any POWERED wired intercom system via the 3-pin XLR connectors. If this happens the base station will disable the master mode setting.
