Wireless: Can't access the CellCom / Freespeak diagnostic logs from the base station

Question:  I'm trying to access the CellCom / Freespeak diagnostics logs from the base station serial port using a standard DB-9F to DB-9M serial cable.  The diagnostics software indicates no connection to the base station, I checked that the serial cable is good, what is causing the connection issue? 
Answer:  The cable is the issue, please use the PD4010 DB-9 cable that was supplied with your CellCom / Freespeak system.  It is specially wired to provide a serial connection from the host PC to the CellCom / Freespeak base station for config editor serial programming or running CellCom diagnostics.  The serial cable pinouts are shown below:
