Wireless: What is "Shared Mode" in Tempest 2.0 Systems?

"Shared Mode" in Tempest 2.0 Systems - will allow multiple Beltpacks, above and beyond the normal limit of 5 Beltpacks per basestation, to monitor a selection of Intercom channels as selected at the BeltpacksThis allows for a large number of listen beltpacks with 5 talks paths shared across all users. Therefore only 5 people may talk at any one time.It will not be possible to latch a beltpack talk key on a shared mode BPs, the user will have to press and hold the talk key to enable talks to other beltpacks.
All beltpacks registered to the basestation will be in shared mode. 4 Chnl BPs still have the ability to dual listen to any of the possible 4 channels
Shared mode is only available to beltpacks and basestations that have the V2.0 radio firmware. The current version of radio firmware, 1.15, does not support this mode of operation.  In systems that contain radios with this firmware version, this option will be disabled at run time.
The BaseStation’s BeltStation Settings menu and the ability to select and set parameters for a specific BeltStation by pressing the corresponding number button will be disabled when in Shared System mode. While in the mode of operation, the BaseStation display will show selected radio telemetry data for each BeltStation that is currently talking back to the BaseStation.  Since BeltStations will not be performing a complete registration with the BaseStation application, all data relative to each talking BeltStation will not be available.BeltStations that are not in Shared System mode will not be allowed to register with the BaseStation application when the BaseStation is in this mode of operation.  BeltStations that do attempt to register but are not in Shared Mode will automatically be switched to Shared Mode.
