Partyline: Is there a gain setting on the KB-112 panel's internal microphone?

Question:  I have several wall mount KB-112 panels in our facility, the MS-232 panel operators have reported to me that when they receive calls from these panels that the audio is too loud in comparison to the other remote panels and beltpack operators audio levels.  Is there an internal mic gain adjustment on the KB-112 panels?
Answer:  Yes, there is an internal microphone gain setting on the KB-112 panel.  On the main circuit board of the KB-112 is a bank of dip switches, in order to access it the KB-112 would have to be removed from its wall mount position, the dip switch is marked as S3 should be visible.  Dip switch S3-1 controls the mic gain, if this position is set to “ON” then the internal microphone is set to high sensitivity.  If S3-1 is set to “OFF” then this is the low microphone sensitivity setting.  Below is a layout of the KB-112 showing the location of S3-1.
