Matrix: Are Eclipse ECS / EHX config maps backwards compatible with earlier versions of software?

Question:  Are Eclipse ECS / EHX configuration maps backwards compatible with earlier versions of Eclipse software, i.e. are EHX 8.0 maps compatible with EHX 7.6 or lower software versions?  Same question for ECS version maps, can a version 5.2.4 map work on a ECS 5.1.3 or lower version?
Answer:  The answer to both questions is no, Clear-Com EHX / ECS maps created / used in a particular version of software are not backwards compatible with earlier ECS / EHX versions.  Maps can be imported into newer versions, when this done the version is no longer compatible with previous versions of software.  If for some reason the map is needed as in the case of an aborted upgrade the original map should be archived with the version number it supports.
