Wireless: Can I activate OTA registration mode from a Freespeak II beltpack?
Wireless: Can I activate OTA registration mode from a Freespeak II beltpack?
Question: I want to add some new FS II beltpacks to my base station but I can't access the base station in the rack room regularly to activate the OTA registration mode on the base. Are there any other options to register these packs other than to access the software to activate OTA?
Answer: Answer: It is possible to enable registration of beltpacks without having access to a Base station or computer. In this case it can be done from a beltpack. The beltpack needs to be previously registered and connected. You need the system admin code, available from Eclipse EHX, the Configuration Editor or the Base station. (The default code is 4632).
Note: The admin code is available on the System tab in the FS II Configuration Editor. On the Base station go to MENU->SYSTEM->REG->PIN to find this code.
1) From the registered connected FS II beltpack press and hold the MENU button for 2 seconds to enter the menu options.
2) Go to SETTINGS -> ADMIN OPTIONS
3) Enter the admin code using the left and right hand rotary controllers on the beltpack (4632).
4) If the admin code is successful, the beltpack will display the ‘Enable Pair Mode’ screen.
5) Press the "D" key on the beltpack to select this option.
6) A confirmation screen will appear. Select Y to confirm. The system will now be open for registration for 2 minutes.
7) From the beltpack to be registered, follow the registration procedure.
