IP Concert: How do I change the Concert 2.7 server from text to graphical mode?
IP Concert: How do I change the Concert 2.7 server from text to graphical mode?
Question: I'm using a Concert server on a Windows laptop on a virtual platform (in this case Vmware). I've just upgraded from version 2.6 .0 to version 2.7.0, I've followed the instructions in the installation manual and after the installation was complete all I see is the login screen. How do I access the concert server software interface from within the Centos operating system?
Answer: The Concert server can be access outside the virtual platform by simply using the Windows browser and typing in the IP address for the server.
Due to issues observed within CentOS when running in graphical mode while acting as an Interface Gateway, it was decided to disable graphical mode to prevent these issues from occurring. The most common issue experienced is a total system freeze requiring a manual reboot of the server. Understanding there is a possibility that your system will become unstable, but still would like to switch CentOS operation into graphical mode, follow these instructions:
Switching to graphical mode: Log in as user "root". At the command prompt, type the following command to switch from text mode to graphical mode:
# setgraphicmode
Switching back to text mode: To switch back to text mode, open a terminal (Applications > System Tools > Terminal) and execute the following command:
# su
# settextmode
