Wireless: Can I upgrade a v1.00 Tempest wireless system to v3.00 directly?

Question:  I have a Tempest 2400 system that was purchased in 2009, we want to upgrade to the latest version on the Clear-Com website which appears to be version 3.00, can I upgrade my system to this latest version cleanly?
Answer:  Yes, using codeloader a Tempest system can be upgraded from a v1.xx or 2.xx to a 3.00 > system.  There are several things to be aware of when upgrading from an earlier version to the current 3.00 application firmware:
1.  On v1.00 systems when you connect the base or beltpacks to codeloader and begin the upgrade process the user will be prompted to first upgrade the boot loader program to version 2.01 prior to upgrading the application firmware.  Follow the instructions to upgrade the boot loader and then upgrade the firmware as needed.
2.  When the upgrade to version 3.00 is completed please clear the memory on all beltpacks and the base station.  This is necessary in order to clear out any residue v1.xx or v2.00 memory which can prevent some of the v3.00 features / options from working correctly.  Clear memory is located in the base and belt tech menus.  Once this is done the beltpacks will need to be re-paired with the base station before using the system.
3.  Upgrading the application firmware does not upgrade the radio module firmware in base stations, beltpacks and the remote CCT-RT transceiver.  Radio module firmware can only be upgraded at our Auburn Alabama service center.  Version 1.18 radio module firmware provides seamless roaming for v3.00 users.  Radio module firmware versions 1.14 and 1.15 do not support this feature on Tempest 2400 systems.
