Helixnet: What are the power options for the HRM-4X remote station?
Question: I want to add some of your HRM-4X remote stations to an existing Helixnet Base Station system running 6 HBP-2X beltpacks. What is the best way to power a remote station, via the power line, via ethernet or locally via its own power supply?
Answer: When using the Helixnet HMS-4X Main Station Powerline the Remote Station receives audio data, control data, and DC power via the Powerline cable connection directly. A Powerline connection draws power directly from the Main Station, which can support ten (10) beltpacks, three to five (3-5) Remote or Speaker Stations or a combination of each per Powerline output.
When using a local AC/DC power adapter, an additional 20 Remote or Speaker Stations can be supported on each Powerline circuit.
The Remote Station has the capability to be locally powered via an external power supply or a third party Power-over-Ethernet (POE) power source. When using PoE power source exclusively, power is drawn over an Ethernet cable, which can support up to 30 additional Remote or Speaker Stations.
