Matrix: How do I connect / program a V-Series panel via IP to my Eclipse frame?
Matrix: How do I connect / program a V-Series panel via IP to my Eclipse frame?
With the panel disconnected from the Eclipse Matrix frame go to the panel’s local menu and setup the IP addressing in the panel:
Local Menu --> IP Setup --> Net Setup menu
*DHCP or Static IP address (use static address unless the Ethernet switch is capable of dynamically assigning addresses)
Select the DHCP menu option, then select between Enabled or Disabled.
******If Enabled is selected then the only options to setup are:
*Login IP address: use IVC-32 IP address
*Login Port: Set to 6001
*Con Type: set to LAN / WAN / Internet as required
******If Disabled is selected then setup the following parameters:
*IP address (of the panel)
*Subnet Mask (of the panel)
*IP Gateway (of the panel)
*DNS Server (of the panel)
*Login IP address: use IVC-32 IP address
*Login port: set to 6001
*Con Type: set to LAN / WAN / Internet as required
User ID: pick a name for the panel as a suitable ID, this will have to be entered (and match what is typed) in ECS / EHX > cards and ports / IVC-32 card port / Advanced Settings / IP Options. Enter exact same user ID, otherwise the panel login will be denied
Connect V-Series panel via an Ethernet Switch, use the Ethernet RJ45 jack on the back of the V-Series panel.Connect the IVC-32 card to the same Ethernet Switch (or network), use the LAN RJ45 jack on the rear of the IVC-32 card
In ECS / EHX software:
Pick a port on the IVC-32 card to place the V-Series panel
In the advanced settings screen / IP panel options enter the user ID (if it’s not exactly the same the panel won’t log in)
In the IP Devices screen you should see any active IP panels in the IP panels section, if you do then right mouse click on the selected IP panel and drag it over to the IP cards section of the screen and place it on the designated IVC-32 card port. If all goes well then it will turn green and will be ready to use once some keys are programmed on the panel.
To finish the process do an apply changes to frame with a frame reset (new hardware being added to frame so this is required to properly wake up the port).
