Partyline: How do I take audio from the PL line and dry it out to send to a recording device?
Partyline: How do I take audio from the PL line and dry it out to send to a recording device?
Question: I want to peel off my party line audio in a way thatisolates the 30 volts so we can record the director'strack to a tape machine ? Any recommendationsand/or does Clear Com offer any isolators to do this ?
Answer: Your need is very common--- So easy to do…
If you have an unused beltpack --- take pins 3 and 4 at the headset connector -- This will provide you with an isolated audio feed and abundant level – use the volume control to find a comfortable sweet spot
No beltpack available? Grab the 4 pin connection off any remote station --- or, from your Main/Master Station - -
Better yet, purchase a TR-50 – Talent receiver --- It can be used to feed your recorder.
Why not from the microphone cable connecting Clear-Com --- Using Pins 1 & 3 --? Not recommended -- You want Isolation and you don’t want to load the Clear-Com line --- meaning your bridging impedance should be very high --- 20, 000 ohms or greater.
