Matrix: How do I uninstall a version of ECS prior to a version upgrade?

Question:  I'm upgrading from ECS 5.1 to ECS 5.2 and want to know how to properly uninstall the old version before I install the new version.  Are there any tips or issues to watch out for during the uninstall process?
Answer:  Prior to upgrading the PC to ECS 5.2 it is strongly advised that the user export the configuration layout maps (.ccn) out of ECS 5.1 data database and on to the desktop of the PC.  When ECS is uninstalled the ECS maps are also deleted.
ECS 5.1 cannot be uninstalled via the Programs menu and must be uninstalled via the Windows Add/Remove facility. To access this open the Windows Control Panel and select ‘Add/Remove Programs’ from the control panel. A list of currently installed programs will be displayed. Scroll down the list to find the entry for ‘Eclipse Configuration Software 5.1’ and click on the ‘Remove’ button. ECS will then be removed via the ECS install/repair/uninstall utility program.
i.e. Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Remove Eclipse Configuration Software 5.1
Be sure that all previous versions of ECS have been uninstalled before starting the new installation of this version of ECS unless it is required that the previous version of ECS is retained.
Note:  This process is valid for uninstalls of ECS 4.2, ECS 5.0 and ECS 5.1, uninstalls of earlier (ECS version 2.2.6 and earlier) require a different uninstall process.
