Matrix: Is it possible to "Latch Disable" a listen key and what is the difference between a local latch and global latch disabled key?
Question: Where in ECS software exactly do I inhibit latched “listen” key capability on a panel? Latch inhibit? What is the difference between a "Global Latch Disable" and a "Local Advanced Latch Disable" talk key?
Answer: Listen keys cannot be latched disabled in ECS / EHX software. That capability is only reserved for Panel Talk Key operation.
Global Latch disable – setting found in Cards and Ports / Advanced settings / Global Settings / Latch Disable, this affects the selected label on all panels in the system, if set to true any panel where this talk label key shows up it will be latched disabled.
Local Advanced Latch Disable – this allows the user to selectively disable talk label keys on a specific panel only, i.e. not global.
In the Local Advanced screen:
Red Dot = Local Latch Disable
Black Dot = Global Latch Disable
Half Red Half Black Dot = both global and local advanced enabled, the global setting will take priority.
