Partyline: Can the EF-701M connect directly to a M+3 or Eclipse frame?
The EF-701M is equipped with an RJ-45 connector that allows for a standard CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable connection to an Matrix +3 MVX-A8 port or an Eclipse MVX-A16 port.
1. On the EF-701M’s back panel, set mode-switch 1 to the ON position. The Data LED will remain ON, except when the unit is being nulled.
2.Connect a CAT-3, CAT-5, or above cable from the RJ-45 Matrix connector on the back panel of the EF-701M to a port (RJ-45) on the Matrix frame. The EF-701M is powered from the 2-wire intercom line. When the EF-701M is receiving power, the Matrix will recognize it as a CCI-22 Two-Wire Interface. Note that when the EF-701M is set to Matrix Direct mode (mode-switch 1 ON), theinternal baud rate jumpers have no effect. The transmission rate is automatically set to the19.2 kilobaud rate required for Matrix communication.
