Matrix: How can I set the IP address for a frame with ECS 5.2?
The factory ships an Eclipse matrix without an assigned IP address and ships in DHCP mode. One of the features of DHCP operation is that if the customer sets their PC to DHCP mode and connects directly to the Matrix via a Ethernet Crossover cable. Then both PC and matrix will default to a special IP address that will let them talk to each other. The customer can then set the matrix to a Static (fixed) IP address following the instructions below.
In order to use Ethernet the IP address must be reset to the default. The system can then be configured for an Ethernet connection. It is not possible to change the IP address via a map download; it must be done from the System screen or the Matrix Event Log. In the system layout screen a right mouse click on the Eclipse frame will provide the user a series of options relating to the frame specifically, select Change IP Settings to open the IP settings for the frame (see screen shot).
Select Edit, this will allow the user to make changes to IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway for the primary IP and secondary IP addresses. The user can also select static IP address mode or DHCP mode. Press the check mark icon to accept the changes or the "X" icon to cancel the changes. When the check mark icon is selected the frame will go into a reset cycle and the new settings will take effect.
