Wireless: How do I wire the Tempest SG-100 zero Sync unit to 2 Tempest basestations?

Wireless: How do I wire the Tempest SG-100 zero Sync unit to 2 Tempest basestations?

Question: We are planning to install2x CM-222 in an OB Truck. With this in mind, how many SG-100 do we need tointerconnect the 2x CM-222 for seamless roaming? Also when using the SG-100, can the 2 basestations be installed in different locations that are about 100-150meters apart?
Answer: If syncing 2 basestations together then only one SG-100 unit is needed. The SG-100 is installed locally near the bases, as you need to daisy chain the SYNC connectors on the rear of the bases. Connect the SG-100 unit to the basestation #1 Sync IN and connect basestation #1 Sync OUT to basestation #2 Sync IN using a straight DB9 female to male cable (as supplied with your Tempest system).
If the basestations have to be located in different areas, then you could use a couple of DB9 to RJ45 converters (only pins 1-5 from the DB9 have to be passed on) and run the sync from onebasestation into the other for the required distance. Youshould be able to find these DB9/RJ45 converters locally. Theother option is toplace the basestations next to each other and use the Tempest CCT-RT remote antenna unit, which can be located up to 450 meters from the basestation or up to 2286 meters by adding multiple CCT-RT-EX remote antenna line extenders. Visitour website for more info.http://www.clearcom.com/product/wireless/tempest2400
