Digital Partyline: How do I connect Tempest to the HelixNet HMS-4X base station?
Tempest 2400 base stations can connect to the HelixNet party-line HMS-4X base station via the following connection schemes:
1. Using the 2-wire PL connections on the Tempest base station with 3-pin XLR cables connect the Tempest base to the HelixNet base station via the 2-wire analog PL module. DO NOT use the HMS-4X powerline connectors on the HelixNet base as they are not compatible with analog 2-wire PLs.Note: Use this mode if the Tempest is part of the analog Party-line system powered by a PL main station or power supply. If Tempest is used as a standalone wireless base station then use master mode to provide PL power to the HelixNet analog PL interface or use option #2.
2. Using the 4-wire connections on the Tempest base station with custom built CAT-5 audio crossover cables connect the Tempest base to the HelixNet base station via the 4-wire analog module.
HelixNet will support connections to both 2 channel and 4 channel Tempest Wireless systems.
