Wireless: Making a user default config for the FSII-BASE
Wireless: Making a user default config for the FSII-BASE
Question: I run a rental company and I would like an easy way for my FreeSpeakII Basestation to be reset to a my specific defaults once it returns from rentals without connecting it to a computer.
Answer:The FSII-BASE is loaded with a factory default configuration. All shipped basestations are equipped with this configuration and the manual assumes that this F.DEFAULT is loaded in the device, as it includes the default IP address etc.It is however possible to make any user configuration become the F.DEFAULT and therefore be easily recalled upon request from the front panel of the device.This can be achieved by following these steps;
- Build your basic configuration, it is suggested that you give it a unique system name and IP in the SYSTEMS tab while at it.
- "Save and Apply" to the basestation.
- In the FSII-BASE manual - Find the procedure: "Loading the default map", starting by unlocking the FSII-CONFIGURATOR in steps 1-4.
- After unlocking the basestation, enter an unique SYSTEM ID to the SYTEMS tab.
- Register any beltpacks you may want to have registered to the system.
- Verify that the system works as you want it to operate.
- Execute steps 5-10.
From the front panel, this configuration may now be recalled from the front panel by entering SYSTEM - DEFAULT - F.DEFAULT
Please note that the Factory Default will not have the default IP address as stated in the manual. As you can change this to suit
