Matrix: I want to dial out via 3rd party telephone hybrid from my Eclipse Matrix

Question:  I want to dial out via 3rd party telephone hybrid from my Eclipse Matrix, as the customer already has these units and does not want to purchase TEL-14 units

Answer: At ECS V5.2.2 You can do speed dials from the matrix to a 3rd partytelephone hybrid (like Telos) but you cannot do manual dialing from a V-seriespanel to the 3rd party hybrid To make it work- In ECS set the port connected to the Telos as a"direct" - Program a speed dial (include telephone number to dialand also the 4wire port which is connected to the 3rd party hybrid) Note: you can use a comma" , " in the number sequence of the speed dial and it will add a 100msdelay. You can add as many as commas as you you need
- Attach the speed dial to a control- Attach a relay to the same control to trigger the 3rd party hybrid unit to go off-hook- Place the control on to a panel key and also a talk+listen label to the 3rd party hybrid Installation:Make sure the RJ45 cable at the matrix end has the TX/RXdata pair looped together. This meansAt the matrix endLink RJ45 pins 1 to 7, pin 2 to 8Then wire RJ45 pins 3 & 6 (matrix input) to the 3rd party hybrid unit (audio output connector)Then wire RJ45 pins 4 & 5 (matrix output) to the 3rd party hybrid unit  (audio input connector)Connect the matrix relay to the hybrid off-hook control connectorYou should see on the front of the MVX card a yellow LEDcome ON to indicate that the interface is connected.
