Wireless: How do get a PRC-2 receiver to start up on the same frequency every time?
Wireless: How do get a PRC-2 receiver to start up on the same frequency every time?
Question: I have a PRC-2 receiver that I use regularly for wireless IFB camera remotes. Sometimes when I power up the receiver it doesn't lock on to the PTX-3 transmitter and I have to take it over to the transmitter and manually re-lock it onto the transmit frequency. Is there a better way to do this?
Answer: The best way to lock the PRC-2 beltpack to it's PTX-3 transmitter is to set the two rotary encoder switches on the side of the PRC-2 to the corresponding frequency of the transmitter. This will insure that the PRC-2 receiver will power up on the same frequency every time. The programming charts for the PRC-2 frequency bands D, E and F are attached below. To prevent accidental frequency lock issues it is advised that the user install a small fiber washer under the "ON / OFF" knob to prevent it from being accidentally depressed into frequency search mode.
