IP CON: What is the earth stud on the LQ used for?

The earth stud on the LQ unit allows the unit to be earthed/grounded.
The AC adapter provided does not provide earth to the chassis. We recommend that the LQ unit be earthed to avoid ground loop when connected to other external equipment
