Partyline: What is the purpose of the non-interrupt program select 1 / 2 switch on the PIC-4704?

Question:  We recently installed a MA-704 / PIC-4704 / TR-50 IFB system at our studio and set up the system program feeds and have set the talent TR-50s.  We setup the program 1 and 2 dimming to the TR-50s and that works as expected.  One control on the PIC-4704 we can't figure out is the non-interrupt 1 / 2 switch on the PIC-4704, it has no effect on the operation of the system.  Can you advise what the purpose of this switch is and or how to make use of it?
Answer:  The lack of functionality from the PIC-4704 program select Non-Interrupt slide switch for the Talent A, B, C and D controls, this is a hold over control from the previous generation of this product (PIC-4000), in order to gain any use from this control you would have needed a split ear talent receiver called the TR-532 (we stopped making it 7 – 8 years ago), one ear would be able to hear the non-interrupted program audio feed and the other ear could listen to the interrupted program feed.  The pack had individual volume controls and a stereo headphone jack.
So when using the PIC-4704 with the TR-50 mono output receiver this slide switch doesn’t provide any functionality, it only responds to the interrupt program feed 1 or 2 slide switch control.
