Matrix: What does the "Grey" matrix icon on the EHX matrix layout screen mean ?
Q. Why are the matrices always "Grey" on the EHX matrix layout screen ?
Answer:
Each Eclipse-HX matrix uses an IP Directed Broadcast message to inform EHX PC(s) information about the status of all the Eclipse-HX matrices in the linked set.
Specifically, this message is used to provide trunk usage and health status on the EHX layout screen.
Operation can be restored by placing the EHX PC on the same subnet as any one of the Eclipse-HX matrices (or possibly by implementing router configuration to forward that traffic to the EHX PC).
The information is non-critical to the operation of the EHX PC and will not impact generation and download of configuration maps.
You can also use a command in your Network router called IP Helper

“IP Broadcast Helper
UDP broadcasts stop at the edge of the local network. This can be a problem under some circumstances.
For example, if a server is relocated to a different network, but it needs to receive UDP broadcasts from clients, which are not being relocated.
IP Broadcast Helper can solve this problem by forwarding UDP broadcasts to a list of destination IPv4 addresses.
IP Broadcast Helper is a form of static addressing that uses directed broadcasts to forward local and all-nets broadcasts to desired destinations within the internetwork.”
