Wireless: How do I put a FS-II antenna into "Site Survey" mode

Freespeak II has a useful temporary operating mode known as "Site Survey" mode, which will allow beltpacks to talk to each other using a simplified interface without being attached to a base over CAT-5.
This feature will typically be employed when checking a new site for coverage area and antenna placement, as it allows antennas to operate using only AC power or a 24V battery source.
To enter the Site Survey mode, the antenna must first be powered off.

  1. Press and hold the mode switch while turning on the antenna.
The amber LED should start flashing. If it does not, ensure the rubber mode button is fully pressed before applying power.

  2. Turn on the beltpack, wait for the screen to appear with the word "Clear-Com"

  3. Hold down the Menu button (rectangular button on the front of the beltpack)

  4. Use the B side rotary wheel to scroll to System Connect

  5. Find "System 200" or similar; this is the name of the antenna. Press D to connect.

You can now use any key (A, B, C or D) to communicate with another beltpack. To view connection statistics:
Use the menu to enter Site Survey mode. This will display connection information such as signal strength (RSSI), error rate and link quality.

We have used a Powertraveller Powergorilla 24,000mAh 5 V, 24 V Power Bank Portable Charger, in the past for demos ,

you have to make a special cable from the powerbank to the 4pin DIN connector on the E1 antenna

Looking for labels? They can now be found in the details panel on the floating action bar.
