Matrix: What is a SPLIT LABEL and what does it mean?

You designate a port to be SPLIT LABEL in the CARDS AND PORTS page in the HARDWARE area.  Highlight the port and in the BASIC OPTIONS category dropdown menu, select the option for SPLIT LABEL (last choice in that section).
A SPLIT LABEL is for when you want to assign the LISTEN, andsometime the TALK of a port to a panel label, but want the TALK and LISTEN assignments to havedifferent names.Say my port  number 5 is a TALK to a 4wire destination but the LISTEN is wired to adifferent 4wire port.  So I am talking toJANE but listening to WFAN-FM.  I mightname my  port  "JANE  WFAN".Instead of programming a talk only to JANE to a button and having JANE  WFAN show on the OLED display, I split theport so anything I program as just a TALK will show up just JANE.  Same thing is I programmed a button to LISTEN(only) to WFAN… if I didn’t split the port, the LISTEN LABEL would read JANE  WFAN, but with the port split labeled, itshows up as WFAN.   The Split Port shows up in the CARDS AND PORTS PAGE as the TALK with a light-red background and the LISTEN with a light-green background.See attached picture of cards and ports page
