Digital Partyline: HelixNet PL: How do I wire up a footswitch to the HelixNet base logic inputs?

Question:  How do I wire up the logic inputs on the HelixNet HMS-4x base station via the rear panel DB-25 connector to be activated via a remote panel switch or foot switch?  How many logic inputs can I access on the base station?
Answer:  The chart below will show the logic input 1, 2, 3 and 4 wiring to a panel switch or foot switch to rear panel DB-25F GPIO connector on the HMS-4x base station.  Logic Inputs 1 thru 4 are programmable via the HMS-4x menu button / rotary controls associated with the LCD displays.  Logic inputs can be assigned trigger any combination* of Headset*, Mic*, Call and Talk Keys with the latch configuration of the key in question.

Keep in mind that;
GPI input will flip the current state of a latched key.
If an absolute control is required by a GPI (GPI=On=Key=On) the controlled key(s) must be set to Non-Latching.

* as of version 4.2+
