Matrix: Is there a shortcut key for activating a V-Series panel for IFB assignments?
Question: I have several V-Series rotary panels that I want to use as IFB assignment panels but since they are 1RU panels they don't have the keypad so I have to go into the menu / Assignment Panel button to activate the feature which means two button presses to activate the feature. Is there a way to create a shortcut key to access this feature with a single button press?
Answer: Yes with the V-Series rotary panels you can paste a shortcut key onto the panel keys in order to activate IFB Assignment panel mode with a single key press. Go to the panel programming mode in EHX software (version 7.1. or later) and look for the special entities keys and select the key label "INTERCOM" and place it on the panel in a talk key location.
Once the label is placed on the panel press the talk key to activate IFB Assignment Panel mode, the label display will invert and say IFB ASSIGN and the panel will be in IFB assignment mode. Once IFB programming is done simply press the key again and it will revert to INTERCOM and the panel can be used as a regular intercom panel.
Note: This key is only available for V-Series rotary panels. Pushbutton and Lever Key V-Series panels can be used for IFB Assignments but the user has to press the #4 button on the keypad for a 2RU panel or press the menu button and then press ASSNMT PNL to access this feature on a 1RU V-Series pushbutton or lever key panel.
