Question: How many active talk channels can I have on the CP-242 beltpack at the same time?
Answer: The Tempest 4 channel beltpacks (CP-242 and CP-942) have four available talk channels, only two can be accessed simultaneously to talk / listen on the beltpack. The available combinations are:
A and C talk channels
A and D talk channels
B and C talk channels
B and D talk channels
If the user activates channel A and attempts to access channel B the activation will go to channel B and A is deactivated. Same scenario applies to the channel C and D talk button activation.
On firmware version 3.00 beltpacks a new feature was introduced, single channel mode. It allows the beltpack to only activate one channel at a time to talk, A, B, C or D.
