Partyline: How to build an in-line mic switch for a headset mic.

Buy a toggle or PTT in-line switch, which will lift pin 2 of the 4-pin XLR to the intercom's headset jack, will allow them to leave the talk latched and turn their mics on and off with unmolested camera shots. This will only work with a dynamic microphone.  Do not allow phantom voltage to be sent to the headset jack from the camera head, panel or BP.See attached photo for an example. One could also short pins 1 to 2...or use a make before break switch.
