Wireless: What should I set the 2-wire/4-wire interface to when no wired IC is attached?

Wireless: What should I set the 2-wire/4-wire interface to when no wired IC is attached?

When using the Tempest 2400 2 channel or 4 channel base station as a standalone system (no external intercom is attached to the Tempest base station) the intercom interface on the Tempest base station should be set to NONE.  (off)
This disables the echo-cancellation software on the Tempest system.  If the base station is set to 2-wire mode the echo cancellation will attempt to perform echo cancellation and this can result in unwanted echo in the beltpack users headset.
Note:  Also check that headset mic gain is not set too high as this can result in an acoustic echo from the mic back to the earpiece depending on the headset used.  Some headset types are more prone to this effect than others so test the beltpack in advance when using unknown or unfamiliar headsets with the beltpack.
