Wireless: What do the CellCom base station CH A / CH B front panel buttons do?

Wireless: What do the CellCom base station CH A / CH B front panel buttons do?

Question:  I have a CellCom base station and I'm connecting a MS-702 party-line main station to it via the CH A and CH B rear panel connectors.  Do I have to activate the CellCom base front panel CH A or CH B buttons?  They don't seem to have any effect on the operation of the party-line operation to Cellcom.
Answer:  The CellCom CH A and CH B front panel buttons have no effect on the 2W party-line connections when a powered main station is connected as the MS-702 provides power to the CellCom 2W interface and and any connected wired RS series beltpacks.
These buttons only come into play when RS-600 / RS-700 series beltpacks are connected directly to the CellCom main station via 3-pin XLR cable.   The front panel CH A or CH B buttons need to be "ON" in this configuration as the CellCom base is supplying power to the directly connected beltpacks.  The available power supplied to these remoted beltpacks only allows for a small number of beltpacks to be directly connected in this configuration, please see the CellCom and RS-600 / RS-700 user manuals for more information.
