Wireless: Why when I have 4 Tempest belt packs on and when I turn on the 5th Tempest belt pack, the display tells me that slot is unavailable
Wireless: Why when I have 4 Tempest belt packs on and when I turn on the 5th Tempest belt pack, the display tells me that slot is unavailable
Each BeltStation has a slot number assigned. By default the number is 1. If you do not change these numbers on each belt they are all set to 1.
The basestation has two display modes: In Dynamic mode the system ignores this setting. In Static mode it uses these slot numbers for the display assignment for the 5 belts on the base, one belt per slot 1-5.
Example: Name the BeltStations "Pac 1" through "Pac 5"
Dynamic mode:BeltStations will show up as 1-5 on the display They will be sorted by Alpha-numeric order based on the belt nameTurn off "Pac 3"Display will show Pac 1, Pac 2, Pac 4, Pac 5, and the last slot #5 will be empty.Turn on Pac 3 and they will all realign.
Static mode:Set slot #'s on all BeltStationsThey will now be displayed based on slot number regardless of name.Turn off "Pac 3"The middle display (slot 3) will now be blank and all BeltStations will stay in their original position.
There are applications and reasons for modes both. If the slots are not assigned correctly on the BeltStations and the basestation display mode was changed from dynamic to static. Then its you're likely to see the "..slot is unavailable.." message
The slot assignment setting is in the Belt Settings menu on the BeltStations.
