Wireless: Differences between CellCom Wireless Group and Standard Group
The CellCom/ FreeSpeak wireless basestation can support point to point, Group and Wireless Partylines communcation
Wireless Party-line:
The CellCom basestation provides five wireless party lines which allow up to thirty members to be connected together in a conference call. The WPL works like a standard telephone conference call, were all users can hear each other. The basestation supports 5 virtual Partyline channels using the software configuration editor.CellCom wireless beltpacks are assigned keys to the WPL channels they need to access.Any external wired connection (port) on the basestation (4wire or a real PL channel) can also be assigned (fixed) to a WPL channel.as a talk / listen member of that WPL channel
Whenever a someone talks onto a WPL their talk signal is subtracted from their listen signal (mix-minus) to remove the sidetone resulting from the users voice being looped back in the conference audio, leaving only the audio from other members.
The Wireless Party-line (WPL) was introduced in CellCom V2.0 firmware to eliminate audio level differentiation when having multiple callers in a broadcast group (see below)
Standard Group
Up to 12 members (beltpacks, ports) can be configured on a standard broadcast group.A group is normally one BP talking out (broadcasting) to a number of users simultaneously. However when the users within the group reply (talkback) they normally only talk back using a point to point communication to the main callerAn example would be a stage manager issuing a command to a group of runners. The runner who replies back is programmed to only talk back to the stage manager and not the other runners. On the CellCom beltpack you can program a key to talk or listen to a group.
