How to move a Gen-IC instance to another geographical region
Description/Additional Context
Moving a Gen-IC instance to another region can be useful to bring it closer to the end user.
Solution
To move a Gen-IC instance to another region, you need to have the required permissions to access the workspace. (Refer to What are the different SkyPort permission user levels)
Stop the instance and wait for it to be stopped.
Once it’s stopped, you can click on the edit icon. From there you change the deployment target to a different region and click on “Update” to apply the configuration.
Info |
---|
Moving an instance to a different deployment target will keep the instance configuration. |
Note |
---|
Gen-IC port numbers and DNS names may change when Gen-IC is moved to another region. |
Finally, you can restart the instance and it will be deployed on the selected region.
